St. Stephens Church to hold blood drive in honor of former Delmar councilman

St. Stephens Church of Delmar is holding a blood drive on Dec. 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Camelot Hall, which is located next to the church. The drive is being held in honor of former Delmar Councilman Greg Smith.

“Greg and Joy (his wife) have done so much for the community,” said Lora Parker.

Smith has received over 100 units of blood to date. The blood drive is an effort to help replace those units for the family.

In addition to serving on the council, Smith is a former fireman. He and his wife are active with the church and have spearheaded the annual Community Love Light Tree lighting in State Street Park.

Pre-registration is taking place at the Blood Bank of Delmarva’s website: delmarvablood.org. More information can be found there as well as on the St. Stephens Church Facebook page.
