Blood drive at Wilkes honors late DJ Mo, aims to save lives in the community

The Peace Onley Foundation held a blood drive at Wilkes University Tuesday in honor of the late DJ Mo.

The organization founded was by DJ Mo’s mother, in order to honor her son.

He died at age 34 after being shot outside of a bar.

People were able to donate blood and also learn about Mo.

Najada Pilgrim is Michael and Anthony’s mother, and she tells FOX56 what these blood drives mean.

“This is what he was about, giving back to the community, helping the community,” Pilgrim said. “It’s about saving lives. Blood saves lives. Whether it be an accident victim, a shooting victim, which he was one himself as well as his brother. You know there’s all kinds of resources that blood can be used for.”
